Common Questions From Parents

What speech therapy services do you offer?

We provide pediatric speech therapy, feeding therapy, AAC support, and comprehensive evaluations for children in Durham, Cary, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro, and surrounding areas. Services are offered in homes, schools, and select clinic locations.

Do you provide speech therapy in homes or schools?

We provide speech and feeding therapy in a variety of settings, including your home, your child’s private or alternative school, daycare, and select clinic locations. At this time, we are not able to provide services within public schools, but we are happy to collaborate with your child’s school team and support communication goals across environments.

We serve families across Durham, Cary, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro, and the greater Triangle area. Providing therapy in natural settings often helps children engage more easily and make meaningful progress that carries over into everyday routines.

What ages do you work with?

Radiant Moments Pediatric Therapy serves children from birth through 18 years of age. Each of our speech-language pathologists has specific areas of passion and expertise, so your child will be thoughtfully matched with a therapist who has experience supporting their age and needs.

We work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children across a wide range of speech, language, and feeding needs, always with a focus on individualized, family-centered care.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

Your child may benefit from speech therapy if you notice differences in communication, speech clarity, or feeding skills. It’s okay to trust your instincts, as many parents first notice small differences in their child’s development. You can also speak with your child’s pediatrician, teacher, or caregiver to get additional perspective on how your child’s development compares to typical milestones.

At Radiant Moments, we offer comprehensive speech and feeding evaluations to better understand your child’s strengths and areas of need. These assessments help determine whether speech or feeding therapy would be beneficial and guide the next steps for support.

If you have concerns, reaching out early can make a meaningful difference. You can contact our team or visit our Services page to learn more.

Why should I choose Radiant Moments Pediatric Therapy?

Radiant Moments Pediatric Therapy provides personalized, family-centered speech and feeding therapy designed to support both children and their caregivers.

While there are many reasons to choose Radiant Moments, we believe the most important is the partnership we build with families. Children make the greatest progress when caregivers understand their child’s needs and feel empowered to support them.

We know how overwhelming it can feel to determine which therapies your child needs, find providers you trust, and fit therapy into your daily routine. Our goal is to simplify that process and guide you every step of the way in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.

How can I feel confident in choosing the best speech therapist?

Look for a therapist with real experience in your child's specific area of need. Speech-language pathologists support communication and feeding across the lifespan, but every therapist has their own areas of expertise. When you reach out, ask about their experience working with children like yours. If the answer feels too general, like "we work with all children," keep asking. You deserve a therapist whose knowledge, approach, and passion match what your child needs.

At Radiant Moments, each of our speech-language pathologists has their own specialty. Together, our team supports a wide range of speech, language, and feeding needs, including:

  • Articulation and phonological disorders

  • Childhood apraxia of speech

  • Orofacial myofunctional disorders

  • Early language delays and late talkers

  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)

  • Gestalt language processing

  • Self-advocacy

  • Neurodivergent communication styles

  • Feeding therapy, including bottle feeding, transitioning to solids, expanding food variety, and tube weaning

Are you considered a neuro-affirming speech therapy practice?

Yes, Radiant Moments is a neuro-affirming speech therapy practice that respects and supports each child’s unique communication style. Our goal is not to change who your child is, but to support their ability to communicate, connect, and advocate for themselves in ways that feel authentic and meaningful. We work closely with families to build understanding and confidence in supporting their child’s communication.

We are committed to ongoing learning from autistic, disabled, and neurodivergent communities so we can provide thoughtful, respectful, and effective speech and feeding therapy. Our approach supports communication growth, self-advocacy, and regulation while honoring each child’s individual strengths and preferences.
